Using Cascading Style Sheets to Standardize Text

Designing for the web can be very frustrating because of the difference between how the PC platform and the Mac platform display the same coding on their monitors. Type is the biggest variable to contend with. HTML tags react relative to standard defaults on each platform. As HTML advances, with newer browsers of 4x or more, style sheets are being introduced to give the designer more control.

A style is a set of properties that define how an HTML element (usually text) appears in a Web browser. In this session you will learn:

  • Internal and external style sheets
  • Browsers and styles
  • Text and styles
  • Tables and styles
  • Tag styles
  • External styles
  • Class styles
  • ID style
  • Duplicating a style
